Here is the most streamed Nigerian album across all digital streaming platforms released in the year 2023.
Following the successful release of some of the biggest and best albums of 2023, the most streamed album of the year so far has been released.
Artists such as Adekunle Gold, Kizz Daniel, Davido, Omah Lay, Asake, Olamide, and many more have all released albums so far in the year 2023, but the album that has the highest numbers of on-demand streams so far has been confirmed to be the second album from the popular YBNL artist, Asake, titled Work Of Art.
According to Turntable charts, Asake’s Work of Art garnered a total of 247 million streams, with 57 million streams coming earlier before the album release from singles released by the artist.
The album surpassed Davido’s fourth studio album, titled Timeless, a project that previously held the record. Timeless has surpassed 241 million on-demand streams across all digital streaming platforms, with a total of 4.5 million streams coming from a prior release (Champion Sound featuring Focalistic).
Asake, who recently joined the ranks of Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido as the only Nigerian artists to headline and sell out the O2 Arena in London, is also the most streamed African artist of all time on the digital streaming platform Audiomack with a total of 1.1 billion streams.
The singer has continued to break records following his unveiling as a YBNL artist, and he is also tipped to receive his first Grammy nod in 2023 as well.
The award-winning singer, who also bagged the highest nominations ahead of the Headies Awards 2023, has also been confirmed as one of the artists who will be performing at the event in the US in September 2023.
