Born on January 8th, 1972, Adewole Adebayo is a Nigerian lawyer and the founder of KAFTAN TV. He is currently running for the presidency of Nigeria under the Social Democratic Party (Nigeria).

Adewole Adebayo Early Life/Background

Adewole Adebayo was born on January 8, 1972 in Ondo City, which is situated in Ondo State. He attended St. Stephen Primary School in Ondo from 1978 to 1983 for his primary education, and from 1983 to 1989, he received his education at St. Joseph College in Ondo. Adebayo later enrolled at Obafemi Awolowo University from 1991 to 1997 and earned a law degree. Subsequently, he passed the bar examinations and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2000. He pursued his legal education in the United States of America, where he passed the New York Bar Examinations and holds a valid license to practice law in state and federal courts in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, California, and New York in the United States.

Adewole Adebayo Career

Adewole Adebayo began his legal career as a litigation lawyer in Lagos, Nigeria, working at the law firm of Tunji Abayomi & Co. After two years of working as an attorney, he established his own law business, Adewole Adebayo & Co., House of Law, in 2002.

One of the cases that Adebayo’s law firm handled in Nigeria was the legal battle between Femi Falana (SAN) and the Federal Government. The case revolved around the constitutionality of the contract between the Ministry of Interior, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and Continental Transfert Technique Limited for the collection of fees for the Combined Expatriate and Residence Permit Aliens Card (CERPAC). In this lawsuit, Adebayo served as the legal representative for Continental Transfert Technique Limited.

In 2016, Adewole Adebayo launched KAFTAN TV, a media platform aimed at promoting African culture and traditions.

Adewole Adebayo has empowered numerous people across Nigeria financially, and he is currently sponsoring nearly 2,000 young Nigerians who are enrolled in tertiary institutions in Nigeria and other countries.

On January 15, 2022, Adebayo announced his intention to run for the presidency of Nigeria, launching his campaign on that day. He is standing as a presidential candidate under the Social Democratic Party (Nigeria) in the general election to determine Nigeria’s leader for 2023.
