Trump comes back to social media with his new $1b Truth Social platform
Donald Trump is now back on social media with his new social media platform called Truth.
According to a tweet from his son, Donald Jr., Trump shared his first post on his upcoming social media platform Truth Social, writing: ‘Time for some Truth!!!’

Truth Social is slated to launch Monday, February 21 according to its Apple App Store listing and the platform is almost an identical replica of Twitter, the social media platform that Trump was an avid user on before being suspended.
Echoing Donald Jr.’s claims, social media users claim that the beta version of Truth Social launched for some users, including the former president who has been testing the platform.
‘TRUTH Social (beta) has dropped and President Trump is active on his own account!’ tweeted Liz Willis, VP of operations at Right Side Broadcasting Network. ‘The world is healing.’
Trump has talked about his plans to take on Big Tech ever since he was banned from Twitter and Facebook during the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, when a pro-Trump mob attacked police and stormed Congress.
He announced he was launching Trump Media Technology Group toward the end of last year, with plans for a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTG+ with entertainment, news and podcasts, as well as the new social media platform.
Screenshots of Trump’s Truth Social account show he reportedly joined the social media network on February 10.
As of midday Tuesday, he had 175 followers. It is unclear if his follower count has since grown as the platform is still not accessible to everyone .
Trump, who will serve as TMTG’s chairman, first announced the creation of Truth Social last fall, saying the platform would create a rival social network to the current ‘liberal media consortium’ and ‘fight back against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America.
‘I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced,’ he said in October.
‘This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!’
