Quique Setien oversaw a training session on the Camp Nou pitch on Saturday, with Barcelona’s players working out at their stadium ahead of the resumption of LaLiga Santander next week.
The big news from the session was the fact that Lionel Messi was out on the pitch, after having missed training towards the end of the week with a minor quadriceps injury.
The No.10 didn’t work with the rest of his teammates and instead trained away from the main group, but this was still a positive step forward for the Blaugrana.
Nelson Semedo also worked out to the side, away from the rest of the squad.
It is expected that Messi can return to group work on Monday, assuming he doesn’t suffer any setbacks over the weekend.
Barcelona then take on Real Mallorca away from home next weekend, when competitive action resumes.
