The Flying Eagles of Nigeria defied all odds on the pitch as they defeated the U-20 World Cup 2023 hosts Argentina by 2-0 in the round of 16 to secure a ticket in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Flying Eagles showed courage and determination in the fixture, which was played on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at night as the youngster, Ibrahim Muhammad scored the first goal for the Ladan Bosso-coached team in the 61st minute of the game before Rilwanu Sarki headed in the second goal deep into the final minute of the game to secure a full victory for the Eagles.
This would mean the Flying Eagles would face the Korea Republic or Ecuador to secure a spot in the U-20 World Cup 2023 semi-finals.
