Chelsea owner acquire majority stake in RC Strasbourg

Chelsea owner acquire majority stake in RC Strasbourg revealed on Thursday that the agreement would see BlueCo invest in Strasbourg’s first teams and academy.

Chelsea’s owners have bought a 40% stake in Strasbourg as they look to build a multi-club structure; Strasbourg narrowly avoided relegation from Ligue 1 last season.

While the Blues will likely look to use Strasbourg as a development side, similar to the Red Bull or City Football Group methods, the French side have a number of intriguing players who Chelsea should be looking at immediately.

The west London club also stated that Marc Keller would remain Strasbourg’s president, having been at the helm since 2012, when the French club was at risk of being liquidated. This is an important day for Racing (Strasbourg). It is something my shareholder friends and I have been thinking about for the past two years,” Keller said in a statement.
