The destruction of the towers was confirmed, and the tragic incident resulted in the loss of life for the NSCDC officer.

The TCN expressed deep sadness and condolences, acknowledging the unfortunate loss of life and the impact of the incident. They extended their sympathies to the family of the deceased and the NSCDC.

This incident follows recent reports of electricity blackouts in parts of the Northeast due to acts of vandalism. In a separate incident, vandals had used explosives to bring down towers on the Gombe-Damaturu 330kV Synchronous Condenser transmission line just a week ago.

The destruction of transmission infrastructure poses a significant challenge to ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the affected areas and underscores the need for enhanced security measures to safeguard critical infrastructure.
