Governor Bala announces: 67 kidnappers neutralized, 29 victims rescued in Bauchi

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State confirmed on Monday that security forces in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area have successfully eliminated 67 suspected kidnappers and rescued 29 victims.

The governor made this statement during a sympathy visit to the Lere community, which had recently experienced an attack by bandits.

Governor Mohammed commended the collaborative efforts of the police, vigilante groups, and hunters in achieving this accomplishment. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the government and the people of Bauchi State, acknowledging the bravery, resilience, and community engagement displayed by those involved.

The governor extended his appreciation to the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies for upholding the rules of engagement and maintaining authority during the operation. He assured continued support for their efforts.

Governor Mohammed emphasized the growing concern over insecurity in the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of its citizens. As a gesture of support, he donated 30 motorcycles and N10 million to the security outfits operating in the area.

Additionally, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Awwal Muhammad, pledged to enhance collaboration and synergy with other security agencies to ensure a crime-free society.

Alhaji Jamilu Bawa, the Ward Head of Lere community, expressed appreciation for the governor’s gesture and affirmed that the vigilante groups would work diligently to eradicate kidnappers and other miscreants from the area.
