Tinubu Allocates N9 Billion to States for Infrastructure Development

The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu‘s administration has disbursed a total of N9 billion to the 36 states of the Federation.

According to Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, N7 billion of the allocation was provided to the states for infrastructural development, while the remaining amount was designated for fuel subsidy palliative.

In a post on X, Onanuga highlighted that the revenue allocation from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has witnessed an increase. He emphasized the unprecedented support that the 36 Nigerian states have received from the Tinubu presidency, with the recent allocation of N7 billion each for infrastructure support, in addition to the previous provision of N2 billion as fuel subsidy palliative.

Onanuga further stated that the revenue allocations to all levels of government through FAAC have been consistently rising since June. He urged state governors to prioritize the well-being of their constituents and focus on utilizing the funds for the development of roads and other infrastructure projects, with the aim of creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth.

He called on the mass media to monitor the states closely and ensure that the allocated funds are wisely and effectively utilized to bring relief to the people. The increased financial support from the Tinubu administration is intended to empower the states to undertake significant developmental initiatives that will improve the lives of their citizens.
